Christian Seder
April 17 6:00 pm | St. Matthew's Gym
The Christian Seder is a special celebration and meal rich with symbolism from 2000 years of Christian practice along with the thousands of years of Jewish tradition prior. Everything we eat and do at this meal has meaning. The lamb is a reminder of the lambs blood that painted the door lintel to save the Israelites from judgment on that very first Passover, while it also speaks to the greatest sacrifice by the lamb of God only a few days after Jesus’ last supper. The bitter herbs, the green leaf, the washing of the feet, first and last cup, the broken bread, the prayer in the garden – all have rich meaning as we remember some of the most important moments of Jesus’ time. I hope you can join us as we relive Jesus’ last supper and night with his disciples.
